The grinding cylinder of a sand mill is filled with a large amount of grinding media, such as zirconium oxide beads, glass beads, etc. When the motor drives the agitator shaft to rotate, the dispersion disc or rod pin on the agitator shaft will push the grinding media to make high-speed circular and axial movements.
After the material enters the grinding cylinder through the feeding system, it is crushed and dispersed under the strong friction, collision and shearing action of the grinding media. Since the movement speed of the grinding media is very fast, the impact force and friction generated can effectively refine the material particles and make them evenly dispersed.
At the same time, the sand mill is generally equipped with a cooling system to take away the heat generated during the grinding process to prevent the material temperature from being too high and affecting the quality and performance.
The fully ground and dispersed material is finally discharged from the grinding cylinder through the discharging system, thus completing the entire grinding and dispersion process.
What is the working principle of a sand mill?
