The horizontal ball mill adopts the rotary friction method. When the horizontal ball mill rotates, the material and grinding balls move to a certain height with the rotation of the ball mill and then fall down. The material is crushed by the collision of the falling steel balls, and the powder is refined by the friction between the steel balls and between the steel balls and the ball mill.
The horizontal sand mill adopts the stirring and grinding method. When the stirring device of the horizontal sand mill rotates at a high speed, it drives the grinding beads to make a vortex motion, that is, the grinding beads move from bottom to top along the tank wall under the action of centrifugal force. When it reaches the liquid level, it falls down again, and the cycle is to squeeze, grind and collide with the powder, which plays the role of refining the powder.
In addition to the functions of rolling ball mill punching, grinding and mutual impact, the sand mill also has the following characteristics:
1. Less dead space in grinding, more uniform mixing and grinding.
2. The high rotation speed greatly enhances the grinding effect.
3. Due to the small particle size of the selected grinding beads and the high bead loading ratio, the contact probability between the grinding beads and the material is increased, and the grinding efficiency is improved.
Due to the above characteristics, the particle size distribution and average particle size of the obtained products of the horizontal sand mill are superior to those of the ordinary rolling ball mill. The experimental results obtained by grinding and dispersing the ferrite slurry with a sand mill and a ball mill respectively show that the efficiency of the sand mill is 7.8 times that of the ball mill, and the particle size distribution of the slurry ground by the sand mill is more uniform, and the sand mill is more efficient. The mill is far superior to the ball mill in terms of pulverization time and pulverization efficiency.
